Alumni Learning
Library Card
SOAS alumni are entitled to free reference and discounted borrowing membership (£60 per year) of the SOAS Library where they can enjoy one of the most extensive collections of academic works on Asia, Africa and the Middle East in the world.
To order an alumni reference or alumni borrowing library card please apply here, by submitting all the information required and email a photo to libenquiry@soas.ac.uk. An online payment will be required for borrowing cards. A few days after you have submitted the application form, the Library will be in touch, to let you know when your card is ready to be collected at the Library information desk.
Online Journals
SOAS is proud to offer JSTOR and Project Muse access to alumni, providing free access to hundreds of academic journals. You can view articles online and download or print out PDF files. Make sure you are signed up to the SOAS World Website and follow the links to JSTOR and Project MUSE to access the e-journals.
SOAS Connect
Network, connect and mentor using SOAS Connect - an online community exclusively for SOAS alumni and students. Share contact and career details, expand your professional network and find an alumni mentor or mentee. This could include anything from exchanging a few emails or checking a CV, to arranging a video call or meeting face to face.

Alumni Ambassadors
SOAS Alumni Groups in California USA
Los Angeles and San Francisco
We are proud to introduce the newly formed SOAS Alumni Group Los Angeles, led by Mr Michael Toubian and committee members Ms Zipporah Goetze and Dr Minna Hsu. The committee is hard at work focusing on events, operations and fundraising. In their inaugural reception in April 2024, they welcomed Philanthropy Manager Ben Siddall-Jones to The Hideaway in Beverly Hills along with 10 other alumni guests.
In San Francisco, recent graduate Ms Anabelle Basterrechea-Jones has joined forces with long-standing volunteer Dr Bharti Kansara to form the SOAS Alumni Group in San Francsico. Together, they are working on revitalising the community in the Bay area through events and other activities.
